Though there are plenty of pricey and posh properties in Gramercy Park, the neighborhood often surprises with relatively affordable units. This one-bedroom co-op, on the market for $499K, is proof.

The 550-square-foot apartment has a spacious living room, a walk-in closet in its bedroom, and a dishwasher. It also features many prewar touches including exposed brick, hardwood floors, and a decorative fireplace.

Another selling point is its location, at 323 East 21st Street, steps from Gramercy Park and a 12-minute walk to Union Square.

The apartment sits inside a five-story walk-up that accepts both cats and dogs and has a common courtyard garden. Maintenance charges for the unit are hefty, though, at $1,419/month. Mike Miller of Compass has the listing.
