Finding a place to live in New York can sometimes feel like a shot in the dark. Obviously, you can view an apartment, and hear the shpiel from the broker or the landlord, but how do you know you’re getting the real story?
How many times do you find yourself thinking, “Wow, I wish I would have known this before I moved in?”
That’s what Go Home NY is here for. Our goal is to create a platform for New Yorkers to share their experiences with apartments, buildings, and landlords. Our mission is to make the NYC housing market more transparent, and to empower NYC tenants to share their stories.
So, how does it work?
Simple. To contribute to the database, just type an address into the map on our homepage. You can leave a review of a place where you’ve lived before, or a place where you’re currently living. We’re interested in the real deal and the whole story, be it good, bad, or ugly. Think of it as a vetted Yelp, but for housing. The goal here is getting the inside scoop to fellow New Yorkers, and creating an outlet for people to share their lived experiences about housing in NYC. Did you have an awesome experience with your last apartment? Great! Did you have the landlord from hell? We want to hear about that, too!
