In the fabled San Remo, a co-op with Central Park views wants $25M

The three-bedroom apartment was created by combining two smaller units

An expansive apartment in one of the San Remo’s fabled towers has just hit the market, and while it’s not asking quite as much as the penthouse once owned by Demi Moore—which recently listed for a whopping $50 million—it’s still plenty pricey. The more than 5,500-square-foot pad is asking $25 million.

This particular unit, 15FE, is a combination of two smaller apartments in the Emery Roth-designed building’s north tower. Its owners, a money manager and his wife, bought the first apartment close to 20 years ago, then added the second in 2011 and combined the two. The result is an elegant three-bedroom unit with plenty of traditional details—coffered ceilings, patterned wood floors, oak paneling—as well as spectacular views of Central Park.

(Why are the current owners selling? Among, presumably, other reasons, it lacked outdoor space, per an interview with the New York Times. So they’re relocated to 740 Park Avenue, just across the park.)

Other features of this very grand space include an entrance gallery with its own powder room, two kitchens (one of which is smaller and has cabinets that are original to the space), a soundproof media room, and a master suite with a dressing room and, once again, Central Park views.

This unique apartment is listed with Bonnie Chajet, Lisa Chajet, and Ronnie Lane of Warburg Realty.
